SIGNAL
In a keynote for the Supporting Inclusion in Graduate Networks and Leadership (SIGNAL) 2024 conference, Ambika had the chance to blend personal narrative, science communication, and strategic decision making for an audience of minoritized graduate students studying animal behavior. She loved the chance to bring together many different facets of her past and present careers!
Speaking Science
Liz delivered the keynote at the Speaking Science 2024 conference at the University of Minnesota! It was called Making Sense of Modern Science Communication. The next time you see Liz, ask her to tell you about the Squirrel Experience that she debuted here—an entertaining and illuminating example of what sensemaking is!
PIPPS
Liz led a sensemaking workshop for a diverse group of researchers and communication professionals at the Pacific Institute on Pathogens, Pandemics, and Society. Together, they tackled the sensemaking challenge posed by health misinformation in Canada!
your journey in science
Ambika led her first workshop for Liminal! She got to spend three hours (virtually) with students in the Effective Science Communication course at Mt. Sinai, where they talked about how to uncover the story of one’s own journey in science, how to identify and connect with one’s audience, and what makes for a compelling narrative. She was blown away by the students’ thoughtfulness!
